I posted recovery instructions. I was able to recover my computer following those instructions TO THE LETTER.

I was able to flash the 1.27 BIOS found here: http://www.bios-mods.com/BIOS//Insyde/AA...miloml.exe without any issues.

Still curious if there is a way to disable one of the GPUs. It causes weird compatibility issues with Linux and OS X.

Digit are using Acer Aspire 5742? hows the onborad graphics is it enable w/c means u can change tthe value?

Well, using the modded 1.27 BIOS, I'm still not able to disable the Intel GPU which means I'm stuck with the Hybrid mode. In Windows, it works alright because you can use the driver to specify to ALWAYS use the GTX chip. Other OS's... not so much.

My exact laptop model is in my signature.

Sorry for the previous mod , i have messed with alot of modified BIOSs at the same time and placed a module from another BIOS to your BIOS .

I have made sure that this one will work well and will unlock alot of menus :-

i will wait your reply ............ and don`t worry as long as the recovery method is working .

PS: to flash the BIOS you should open DPJ.BAT as this will flash the EC FW as well .

The new one works for me! Thank you so much, Ahmed! Do you happen to know if it's possible to unlock any menus that deal with the GPU at all? Again, appreciate all your hard work!

Recovery didn't work for me so i sent it to acer and got it back in same day, iam using Acer 5742 not G version,also its working now & have it unlocked DVMT/ Vram value from 128 to more ,cuz its grayed on mine.

also shud i update the orginal Bios from acer first then modded one or doesnt matter?

@nagashi i cant change my 128 vram but theres an additional menu but not for my onboard graphic what did u do to that make u change your vram value?

i didnt change it , i want to change it thats why iam requesting a modded bios becasue its grayed on my menu

Please tell me the name of the graphics option and in which menu its found sothat i can check it for you .
also, can someone please upload pics for the unlocked menus and tabs to let me knew if all tabs are unlocked or something still locked !
