Here's a BIOS with AHCI unlocked. Tell me how it works out and what you see in SATA mode menu.

There's a little surprise in the Security section, I hope you'll find it interesting Wink
Photos of AHCI confirmation would be appreciated.

The AHCI works but when i change the setting AHCI to or from IDE mode i need to exit and save before ive the correct settings for the mode in the "IDE Configuration" menu.

The AHCI works with win 7 x86 / x64 tested standard AHCI driver. There is also a raid option but i think its not needed for that system

Glad that it works fine.

I understand what you're talking about. This is absolutely fine. BIOS setup is a configuration for startup process. And like overclocking or other things, new settings are applied only after a power up. So when you switch from IDE to AHCI, the device is still seen as IDE. Only when you reboot the system initializes your drive connected to SATA port in AHCI port and then you can manage it's setting.
I have the same thing on a board that has AHCI feature by default. It's a normal behaviour.

okey again many thanks for that it works great! is there somewhere a tutorial about modding newer bioses?

vodo
A tutorial for such an unlock? No, not yet. But I think we might write it soon enough. Stay tuned.
How do you install this ROM? I tried BUPdater it gives me error!

EDIt you have to type the full path to the ROM:

bupdater.exe /i1201N_AHCI_unlock.rom

Been looking for ages for an AHCI Mod which really works! Thank you so much. After months of desperate search Google was kind enough to link me to your great forum. Such good work is really much appreciated. Big Grin
