All, Thank you in advance. After searching many hours on the net, I finally found your site. I would like to request AHCI support for the Dell Insprion 620/Vostro 260. Dell seems to think that this is not a option that users should be left with making.

Sadly, this can never be done. The H61 chipset simply does not support AHCI.
The H61 can run AHCI. There are other H61 boards out there that do have AHCI enabled. I modified the A10 bios and enabled the AHCI option along with the ability to turn on dual monitors (so you can run the integrated GPU and add on GPU at the same time).

I just downloaded the file. Does not install because I have already unpatched A10 running. Message: "same or older" and I can only choose "quit".
Tried to "downgrade" BIOS by flashing A08 but same message.
Does anyone know a way how to get the A10AHCI installed? A patch to toggle between IDE and AHCI would be great...

Argh wish I had read this before I updated to A10. Silly me, thinking Dell's latest BIOS would have unlocked AHCI.
Now to find a way to downgrade the bios first...
