@BDMaster Do you know anything about the uefi that MarcoMjet posted? Did you test it?
I would like to see pictures of it and know what the 2 files are (check post above)
Marco has tested It and i have just prepared !
so ask to MarcoMjet !
Regards
May I ask then what the difference is between the two files?

If you prepared it, could you please check what is wrong with all 5741(G) bios stuff. I have a PE4L and when I have it inserted in the wifi card and the gpu inserted, it doesn't boot. I have to boot windows (win 8 works best, 7 gives me error code 12 and it doesn't really fix with DSDT override), then put it into sleep, swap the wifi card with the PE4L+GPU and then wake it.
Furthermore, I have tried it with 4 cards now, The Club3D Radeon 6450, MSI Radeon R7 240 LP, EVGA GTX 260 v3 and the Asus GTX 560TI DirectCUII Top.
The amd cards have no problem with operating it, they don't need extra power, but as soon as I use a nvidia gpu (both got 2x 6pin and my 300W shouldn't have problems with them as it doesn't power up other hardware besides the gpu and the PE4L I get problems. The GTX 560TI always gets a BSOD with a driver file, I tried 5 different drivers, none of them worked, and the GTX 260 doesn't give output, drivers installed, but fan is 100% and GPUz doesn't show every info.

I tried the same setup on the aspire 5536G and I had no problems at all, it even boots with the PE4L and both nvidia cards run without problems.
My Aspire 5741 has 8GB ram, I even tried it with 2GB to give the eGPU more memory resources, but it still doesn't work with nvidia cards.

I have upgraded a lot in this laptop and it would be a shame if one thing breaks the game. I upgraded the cpu, ram and the hdd to a sshd.
I just packed all Modules needs to UEFI then Tests and Experiments were done from Marco so ask to him !
I haven't this laptop and cannot check anything !
He is developing this feature on this old laptop (I have prepared a lot time ago one for Acer Aspire 8951G)
and I got some good results so Marco asked to me to help him and all merit is only his as all was
continued by him !
Regards
Okay, well. He has not been online here about two weeks, so I asked you.

So I want to flash the .fd file, do I have to do that with the recovery mode fn+esc, fn+b or win+b?
I have an empty fat32 128mb flash drive that should work fine. Leave it empty and pnly put the fd file (ofc renamed to what it should be with phoenixtool v2.59). And the same thing but with the default bios (just in case).

Or can I flash it with a tool on a bootable usb? (Clearly not a fan of that, I killed 2 mobos by that. I only like the windows one, I flashed my bios a couple of times on my laptop using the windows flasher and never had problems with it)

Edit:
I have put the 1st boot on the usb, 2nd on hdd. Just to be sure that it will detect the usb first.
I tried it, but I don't know how to do the recovery flash. Win+B does nothing, it just boots the pc, same goes for FN+B.
When I do FN+ESC, I get this:
Insyde H2O EFI 2.0 MB
Copyright 19xx-2007 Insyde H2O Technologies Ltd.
All Rights Reserved
This bios is exclusively for Acer only
Copyright 2002-2010 by Acer Inc.

System BIOS Version: V1.23
BIOS Build Date: 04/25/2011
System Memory Speed: 1067 MHz
Processor Type: Intel ® Core™ i5 CPU M 560 @ 2.67GHz

And then it boots to the usb and tells me there is no OS.

I tried it with these file names:
NEW70X64.f
NEW70X64.fd

Phoenix tool 2.59 tells me the recovery file name is:
NEW70X64.f?

It is not possible to use a questionmark at any file name or extension.

Should I replace NEW70123.fd with the UEFI one in Camiloml's bios and flash it through windows?

Edit:
Lol, I had the battery inserted. Will try without now. Why actually without? It sounds stupid. If the power cuts, it is dead, with battery, it can still run it.

Edit:
It works Smile
I was kind of dissapointed, but yeah..
The only thing that is new is that there is more stuff in the boot section, nothing fancy UI. What is the advantage now of having this uefi bios?
I am looking for an option to control/speed up the fan. will either of these bios' give me the option to do that?

Nope, the latest bios should give you more stuff, but nothing about fan speed.

Tested on my Acer 5741G.... works....
All credits go to BDMaster that have packed the bios, rajko (efi modules)....

i've tested it with windows8.1 64 bit GPT + Yosemite 10.10.3 GPT.....

http://rghost.net/6DxWR7PjX

there are two files use mod3...

And you do not tell me you have installed Windows and Yosemite (MacOS) at GPT, I wrote that it was impossible to establish the section of this type. Maybe there is a sequence of actions, or BIOS settings any certain. (I have now installed Yosemite+ElCapitan and want to install Windows)
Acer 5741G i5, GeForce 320M, DDR3 8Gb, Broadcom BCM94352HMB (WiFi+Bluetooth)
Thanks in advance
Hi, I have an Aspire 5741G with an i5-430M processor.
Which is the maximum processor that I can mount in my PC??

I want to upgrade with an i7 processor.... can I put on a i7-740QM or i7-720QM processor.
I look about the cpu maximum memory... all i7 with socket pga988 use max 8Gb of DDR3.... is possible to put on 16Gb of memory in this machine??

Many thanks....
