Read the stickies first and try this:

doesnt work. It flashes correctly but when i installed the new card and pressed the power button the system hung with a black screen and led's flashing
It should work. That's the one I've been using. If it hangs on the black screen, shut down, remove cmos battery, put it back in and that should do the trick.

Tried it several times...same result..it hangs at the black screen. The minute i put the old card in with the modded bios..it shows a CMOS checksum error and restarts at which point windows loads but the wireless doesnt work. I dont have a choice at that point so i have to flash back to stock.

Maybe camilo can take a look at the bios to make sure its right?

By the way which model of the dv6 do you have?
I have the very first mcdel. dv-6000
where the heck is camilo or one of the other moderators? ..we need help!!
P.S. I'm running a clean install of windows 7 pro. I dont have the HP_Tools partition..that was deleted on the clean install process. The BIOS flashes in windows and restarts normally. Everything falls to crap the minute i stick the new wireless card in. The card itself works as I have tried it on my old laptop. Its a generic Intel Centrino 6230 card.
Understand that i have a life, a day work (which me and my family eat from), a wife and a couple of dogs. So the time to do this is robbed to my rest time. I decide when and how i spend it. Once this is understood all will be fine. So relax.

If your system is AMD based then most probably you never are going to make work the 6230 on it.
Sorry I didn't mean to sound like an as*h*le ...apologies Smile
