A few days ago I came here and used a modded version of my bios for my Aspire E380. Worked out just the way I had intentions for (OCing) and is running great. Thanks to the people at bios mods hereBig Grin. And after such great success with that, I feel anticipation to do that to my notebook, Aspire 5720Z. According to the windows experience index (not sure how reliable the test is), this notebook should be running games better than the desktop (not anymore thoughCool ). But this notebook has NEVER outperformed my desktop with ANYTHING! So I would like to see if there is some hidden potential, but the bios for this laptop are like...lack of a better word, castrated. There is literally NO adjustments to be made with the stock bios. Even camilo called it "strange" in my request thread. And I just wonder with it being so stripped or "castrated" as I like to call it, can there be any helping my bios? My understanding of bios has really come along since coming to this site, but what I don't understand is the lengths manufacturers go to to limit what the user and/or hardware can do. I do understand there desire to keep users from messing up there pc's while under warranty. But why would they put x componet that can do this and this into x pc with bios that may limit or disable this and this. Just seems like a waste of money on not just the customers part but theres as well. I hope I posted this in the right place (think I did), I apologize if not. But just wanted get this off my chest, cant stop thinking about it, if anyone wants to shed there opinions about this (or facts too), i would like to hear'em. Thanks.
