hi,

For changing order of boot after to have install a SSD hard drive.

After F2, my setup ask me for a password.
I never put myself a password to my setup.

I buy this Dell XPS L702X in juily 2011. I think my bios is a Phoenix UEFI 16.

I tried to put a generic password in it but after 2 tries, i got this message :
Password / unlock key
Unlock key hint number
and a number whitch is not a password.
(see picture )

I call Dell but they seems to be surpprise of it...etc

Do you have a solution or something to help me ?
By advance, thanks

Clear the CMOS by taking out the CMOS battery normally works!
It doesn't, unfortunatelly.
It is a laptop so the battery is far away inside computer.
Actually, it is a phoenix UEFI bios and i read that taking out battery is not enought to cancel a password UEFI bios.

Let me know.
thanks

Taking out the RTC or CMOS battery has no effect on laptop computers. The password is usually stored in a separate chip. That chip keeps its content even without any current feed.

Look at Dogbert's blog instead.
