What's wrong with it?

I Update to F.20 version.
And now i want to flash F.13 no whitelist.
But wrong : "This is an older version of bios which is not compatible with your system configuration"

Please help me!
sorry to botherr you all with my question but ...

HP 8530p EliteBook
My laptop is currently BIOS PASSWORDED, ive found on the web that is stocked on a EEPROM and I couldnt be able to reset or crack it exept if i proceed to the dissembly of the board \ EEPROM

first of all , am i right ?
secondo .. the only reason why I need to access bios is to modify one parameter "LAN SWITCHING" need to be ENABLED ( we are deploying wifi in our hospital and we cant let people use the wired network at the same time of wifi so everyone laptop ( 132 so far.. ) has to be configured to enable auto lan switching.

can it be done by moding the bios then reflash it using "undocumented insyde recovery bios procedure" ? if so .. how ?

i know how to flash it, but i have no clue WHAT line im suppose to mod using tools like ezh20 or phoenixtool 2.0 ...

please help .. it would be reall appreciated.
thank you

Has anyone found a solution yet for the HP 8530p F.20 Bios Issue?

I have a HP 8530p with F.20 which has white list of Intel Wifi cards only.

I need a Atheros Card to run as Access Point ......

You Dirt Bag ....... You should test the Bios before distributing.

How many peoples Laptops have you bricked in the forum other than mine?
Bump...
I did manage to do a recovery on the system bios by using the UBS stick trick....

Your not a total dirt bag now ..... but you should warn people that it has Not been TESTED!

Hey there new to the fourm and about to loose it on this 8530 bios update crap.
If you could please let us know how you restored your bios.
I did the mistake of updating mine to f.20 and now need the whitelists remove. I’m having a [censored] of a time trying to figure out how to downgrade so that I can patch the f.13 whitelist removed version in.

My theory is that if you treat the system as if the bios has been damaged and restore to an earlier version f.08 through the usb recovery process, then you can update back up to f.13 with the whitelist removed.

I like this notebook but “GOOD GOD HP, WHAT THE [censored]

Any help would be much appreciated

You should just be able to re-flash with the older version...might need to do it in DOS if the Windows utility gives you any trouble.

Im finding this increasingly frustrating.
My goal is to flash the bios to that I can use any 3g modem I want. Not just the ones hp wants me to use.

I have tried both the windows based bios flash and dos based ones, all give me the “this is not compatible with your current system configuration” error.

I did however just realize that I did upgrade the cpu to an old x9800 I have and every time I boot it says current processer stepping not compatible with system. System then boots fine and windows load perfect. Detects all parts of the cpu with no error. So I just have ignored that anyways.

But im wondering if that stepping error is causing bios downgrade to error out.

If anyone could guide me in the direction of performing the usb emergency flash. That would be helpful.

But I will swap out the cpu when I get a chance and try the windows based bios flash.

Thanks so much everyone
