Hi Folks!

I have a P7P55D-E LX with an old version of the Intel Option Rom (8.9.0.1023) and want to be able to access 3TB disks in the Option Rom.

I've done some research on this and chceked with Asus - they haven't updated the OPROM at all in any of their BIOS releases :-(

Can someone help with this? I'd really appreciate it Angel

I've attached the latest (and probably last) BIOS release to this post.

I don't know what the latest Intel Option ROM is but I've seen some 11.x versions. The board has the Intel P55 Chipset.

Thanks very much!

Intel RAID ROM Updated to 11.1.0.1413 (Latest Non-Alpha Version)
ASUS SLIC 2.1 Added also.
You d'man !! Big Grin

Thanks very much for addressing this issue for myself and for other user's of this board Smile

I installed your new BIOS this morning and I can confirm that the new Intel Option ROM is installed (and that it now properly supports 3TB drives) and also that the BIOS itself is correct.

I don't know about SLIC (as I know little about it) but I will keep my eye out to see if my O/S does an external validation should I need to re-install in the future.

Thanks again - much appreciated!

PS>There is also a Marvell BIOS on this board - so if you find yourself working on this BIOS again in the future... :-)
Much thanks for this. Super work. Now i need Marvell updated too.

How screwed your Marvell? On my comp all worked OK. On first port i have OCZ Vertex 3 drive, on second WD Blue 1TB, both is 6G speed.

Worked perfectly on mine. I have 7 drives installed (6 on the Intel and 1 on Marvell) and they are all there and working fine.

Thanks VERY much DMAN999 - you've done everyone who owns one of these boards a great service Angel

keyra74 - perhaps the problem lies between the keyboard and the seat? Wink

Lets hope you have a real MOBO and not the ASUS garbage with the Marvell garbage.

A waste of a vertex to put it on a Marvell 9120,9128,9172,9220, these are Sata 2 not Sata 3, if you have one of these controllers, you don't have Sata 3.

ASUS should be sued for lies and blatant false representation of Sata 3.
