Hello, and a wonderful day to everybody.

A little time ago, I bought a new mainboard and 2 xeon nocona with 4x3600Mhz HT enable.
The board supports 2 PCIe x8 cards. And there was the problem! Where to buy a PCIe x8 card? I didn't find one, and in other forums were discussed that PCIe x16 isn't much faster than x8. But my ports are closed, so I could'nt put a HD3870 on it. So you can take a knife and make it open, but don't damage a contact!

I attached some pics, and on one pic there is the cut in red, I didn't take the knife on the pins, it's of course plastic.

I think, anybody could need this TUT, and I hope anybody it's not me alone with a problem like that Wink

Good luck

Take this tut on your own risk!!!!! And please be carefull!! It could damage the hardware!
I once cut a GF8400's slot down to 8x /w a dremil. Tried it in a PE 1800, bios screen booted but went black after that, I think those PCI-E slots weren't ment to handle video cards of any kind. Still have it. One day i'll try it in a normal computer
