My 9500gs crashed and burned, i hardly found a mxm2 reversed (for asus) geforce gt130m. I extracted the bios, removed a vbios (i had 2, one for 9500gs and one for 8600gt) and added a vbios from a asus n51vf , the vbios for gt130m. The display works, it boots into windows , but iti crashes quicky, usually if i maximize , the the screen freezes. Can anyone please help my fix the vbios , so i can use the 130m, or make a new vbios that will be ok . I'll attach the files : 207.rom (my original bios) 207130.rom (original bios with 8600 vbios replaced with gt130m). I hope someone's around here, i'm getting angrier and angrier , nearly bricked my laptop with a bad flash. please help

ps : in safe mode i got no crashes.

Hi,

If your laptop doesn't crach in safe mode, it means that is not a hardware or Bios problem. Personally, i think that your problem may be a driver issue or a voltage issue like some people with 9650m GT with Win7. What kind of driver you've installed? Is it a modded driver?

In your case, you have to have a modded driver, search and install a Stable and WHQL modded driver HERE (put your device ID and press search, download the driver and moddified *.inf file)

For voltage issue you have 2 option (it's better to do both):

1º Mod your GT130M vbios like it said HERE

2º Disable PowerMizer downloading the "NVidia PowerMizer Manager"

Hope it can help.

Regards
Hi there, since my last post, i've been running a ubuntu flavour, with the open source drivers (non proprietary), it's currently stable, the nvidia linux drivers did not work either, so 1 gb of vram is kinda useless. When i'll get the chance (a new try at a windows install) i'll try out your advice.

Thanks
