Thanks! I flashed it and it seemed to work, however I am bluescreening when doing anything with the wireless card. I booted up with a linux live cd and it also froze the laptop. Either the new card is bad or there is a issue somewhere.
I tried the card in a different laptop and it appeared not to work.... Guess I'll get another one.
Thanks - I'm sure it will work once I get a non-defective card...
it didn't work for me, and my wifi card works fine in other notebooks, now it comes with blue screens all the time ;( i flashed it back, anyone the fix?

First of all I have to say wow to this forum, it looks like a gold mine of info for my problem.
I have read quite a few threads in this forum and have not come across anything solid to confirm whether the
SP45070 Whitelist BIOS is compatible with my laptop, it is the AMD variation, Model:
CQ60-
212EM
Original Wireless Card PCI ID: VEN_
168C & DEV_
001C & SUBSYS_
137B103C &REV_01\4&B224E5E&0&00A0
ATH-AR5BXB63
The wireless card I bought is an Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN and works 100% in Windows but I have to hot swap it after POST.
Will the above mentioned Whitelist BIOS work for me? And if not, could I please request it to be modified ?
Thanks very much for any help,
BIOS that needs modding is here:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45070.exe
It does not appear to be RSA Signed by either of the 2 methods to check. Opening in BIOS Editor the logs do not show decrypted, and the name of the BIOS file is
360AF54.WPH

Just found this thread and looks like its the BIOS I need for my CQ60-212EM
Can anyone from this thread confirm which modded BIOS worked for them ?
EDIT - Tried them all and getting BSODs on each one when I do anything with the wireless card too
Any ideas ?
As the guys who are modding the BIOS's are either busy or awol, could someone link me to the tools needed to decompile, edit, and recomplie the above BIOS so I can try this on my own?
I managed to get so far using Phoenix BIOS tool, got to the 5100.ROM part of the BIOS, Found the Whitelist entry for the original card, replaced the sequence with a HEX editor, saved it and told it to recompile, but got an error each time stating that 5100.ROM was 5 bytes too large and could not integrate it back into the BIOS
Cheers
Forgot to add, I flashed the one in the downloads section and it passes POST with the new card installed, but freezes the machine as soon as you try to use wifi
