Ok after a night through Windows 10 installation. I got it running  Big Grin. Im on rs3, have tried rs5 but wont continue setup past logo unless you disable vt-d. Anyway i did the onboard marvell sata test. Below is the result. only tested the anyrom s21 not the win10r ver. im quite satisfied but wished i could run at least vmware 12 with vt-x (not complaining to you pir8man, but to ASUS). I need to use pcie sata controller cause the marvell onboard controller sucks. Choking the 500mb/s r/w speed of my Sandisk Ultra 3d 250gb. No more comments, just waiting next release if available. Again thx to pir8man for his hard work for this.

my conclusion, better speed from stock ASUS 0903. it has new microcode support. this definitely the best yet. (or until someone else find a bug)

*update found one - when PC goes to sleep will result the computer with power off at least for me

Known bugs in core BIOS are:
vt-d does not work with windows 10
Marvell SATA3 is EARLY 1st generation and does not perform as well as SSD drives.  Use only rotational drives on this controller.
SSD drives perform best on the Intel controller (SATA2) ports

The controller limitations are specific to the hardware chip.  These can only be overcome by adding a better SATA3 PCIe card to your system.  Of course this will make the 1MB bios memory space even tighter, so you will want to disable both jMicron and Marvell ROMs to free up memory space.

VT-d is part of the main BIOS code.  Only ASUS could do this update and I doubt they ever will at this point.

I do not monitor/subscribe to this particular thread.  if I do not respond, send me a PM to come back and check the thread.  I do not think there is any room for improvement over my S21 release for this board.  If anyone has any suggestions/requests, I will be happy to build it for you all.

when i had an ssd drive on my asus rampage iii gene , tested both ports with samsung 860 evo and marvel sata3 was much much faster than the sata2 ports.

General consensus of testing has shown that the Marvell controller peaks at about 200MB/s.  The Intel controller with OROM 11.x peaks at about 225MB/s.
These are not set in stone.  Many variables will come into play.  The particular SSD drive being tested (not model of drive, but individual drive), as there is variance in the production process.  The particular SSD drive model.  The OS in use.  The OROM versions being used.  AHCI or RAID mode. Software & driver versions in use.
Without more information about your test scenario, I cannot even comment on your results.
- What actual speeds did you get with each drive?
- Which BIOS/OROM were you testing with?
- What mode were EACH controller in (AHCI/RAID)?
Nonetheless, this is all about a R3G board and should be discussed in a different thread.

I have kind of an odd request, I'd try to hex it in myself but 90% sure I'd brick my board. Could I get a copy of the most recent bios but with the date edited to something recent? I'm job hunting and considering working from home but they wouldn't even look at me because they for some reason go by your bios system date which is pretty old at this point even if your system is more than capable.

Thanks if anyone doesn't mind!

Pir8man, thanks for the excellent work. People say that in this Bios for Sabertooth x58 fixed vt-d for Win10 1803 and later. Can you modify the RIIIF bios with this fix? Sorry for my English.

vt-d is broken due to a corrupt ACPI table "DMAR".  And I cannot locate a way to inject a working DMAR table into another BIOS.
As of now, ASUS is the only resource to get a corrected vt-d implementation in BIOS.
Send in your support requests for ASUS.  If they get enough requests, it might spur them into action.

There are workarounds available...  Linux and Windows has tools to override ACPI tables, like DMAR, during boot-up.
Here is a decent guide for Linux: LINK
Here are two ways to override ACPI tables for Windows: (Registry injection) LINK1  & (file-based injection) LINK2
Unfortunately I could only find ACPI extraction methods for the DMAR table that operate from a running system.  As this is all new to  me, I am unsure if that means we need a Sabertooth x58 with corrected BIOS or if any x58 system with a working DMAR table will suffice.  For Windows, RWeverything will suffice to extract ACPI DMAR table.  For Linux, acpidump and acpixtract, will extract the DMAR table.

I have no need for vt-d on my x58 system.  So you are on your own to test these workarounds.
