Hey All, I am new here, but not new to forums in general. I am a Moderator at two forums. I ran across this site quite by accident while looking for an unlocked BiOS for the motherboard in here ( found it too ). As my avatar implies, I am a Coast Guard Veteran that included a tour in Vietnam. My first Computer was a Commodore 64. When the motherboard got fried due to a power surge, I "moved up" to a Coomodoer 128 and strted fooling around with CP/M a little. My first foray to the "Other side" was on a friend's computer that was running Windows 3.1. I finally made the jump when I bought a new computer running Windows 95. Skipped Win 98, 98SE, & Millenium and went to Win 2k Pro with my next machine. The next one was running XP Home, and the one after, XP MCE 2005 ( I still have and use that one ). With this one, I have finally caught up and am Dual Booting Vista & Windows 7. Also running a Core i7 920 ( at the moment). I do like my games when I have time as the moderating keeps me busy. The eMachines running XP MCE 2005 has been upgraded as far as it will go for the most part. I moved to the Pentium D 945 ( 3.4 GHz ), maxed out the ram ( Amount & Speed ) and installed an Nvidia 9800GT card and a Corsair 650w PSU ( a little overkill ). I love messing with my computers when I have the time and am getting ready to start pushing this one a bit.

Cooler Master 912 HAF Case, ASUS P8Z68-VPro MOBO, Intel i7 2600k OC'd to 4.4 GHz, 8 Gb of GSkill Ripjaws Series X 1600 Mhz ram, Samsung Optical drive, WD 1TB Caviar Black 6.0 Hdd, WD 1 TB Caviar Black 3.0 Hdd, Samsung 256 Gb SSD, EVGA Nvidia GTX 560Ti 1 Gb Video Card, Corsair AX850 PSU

Well First off i want to say how interesting this forum is, my username is E5700, and the story behind it is ironic in its own sense, the desktop I use is an eMachine W3653 with an ECS Elitegroup 945 GCT-M3 motherboard (flashed back to ECS from eMachine) I then decided to replace the processor because the one it uses now, well, it simply bites, so i buy this Intel Wolfdale E5700, wait almost a week, and when it gets here i learn that it doesn't work on my motherboard, maybe its just the BIOS or an actual hardware issue, either way i picked this name due to my own incompetence in that matter.

Hi there E5700!
There is no incompetence, there's only the wish to learn alittle more when you got here... Wink
greetz from germany!

Sometimes you just have to try to be sure it is not working...
