Hello everyone, I would like to request an AHCI unlock for my Acer Travel Mate 4230. I'm planning to install an SSD and Windows 7, so AHCI is crucial.
System Specs:
- Laptop: Acer Travel Mate 4230 (motherboard BL50)
- Chipset: Intel 945GM
- Southbridge: Intel 82801GHM (ICH7-M/U) - verified, hardware supports AHCI
- Current Bios version: v3.60 (Phoenix Bios)
Request:
Can anyone help me unlock the AHCI and RAM settings in the menu? Or a completely hidden menu? I heve a donor motherboard for testing, so I can risk flashing experimental builds.
Thank you in advanced!
Anyways, I would like to humbly ask help in unlock of the hidden options in Vaio SX12 VJS 125 BIOS (intelME settings , TPM settings and AHCI / NVME stuff is of particular profound interest)

I have manage to find installers for my version R0360ZA and several newer ones ( R0360ZA and R0380ZA )

they were in weird archive but I managed to grab the temp folder and so now I have the BIOSes (thry are supplied as .Cap files) and all the update tooling

I share them all here:
P.S. and one more thing, my current BIOS has a mystery “provisioning BIOS configuration key” option with current status CLEAR
Thank you

i have a samsung np700z5c-s02ub laptop. its getting old but is still a very usable laptop other then the limitation of ram. i have bought a 16gb sodimm and when i install it the system doesn't see it and only runs the onboard 4gb but in cpu-z when i check the slot it shows as being there https://mega.nz/file/qho1yLTR#Y66CcPecWV...qW8tQamhs4

i have 2 files
one is a cap file from samsung https://mega.nz/file/OwJDWZAa#Tm1o3JFuHb...diFN4z9r3s
the 2nd is a bios dump from fptw64.exe -bios.rom -d https://mega.nz/file/6gxRCAYI#o1Sr1_KX5X...kMd59NNmyg

i am not sure if the onboard 4gb need to be disabled to allow the 16gb stick to be used as i read the chipset is limited to 16gb.
ultimately it would be great to have 4gb+16gb=20gb but 16gb would be better then the 4gb+8gb=12gb that i am limited to now

Thank you again just trying to keep this thing from becoming ewaste

here is a link to the expanded install.exe from samsung that opens in the user appdata folder when you start the bios update https://mega.nz/folder/PpwWkRrK#vng8usiP8RxSflITAZeryA

ultimately it would be great to have 4gb+16gb=20gb but 16gb would be better then the 4gb+8gb=12gb that i am limited to now

Thank you again just trying to keep this thing from becoming ewaste

Hello everyone,
I need help with my Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. Its original GeForce 8600M GT graphics card failed, so I replaced it with an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT MXM card.

**Problem:** The laptop powers on, but there is no display (black screen) on either the internal LCD or external monitor. This indicates a BIOS compatibility issue with the new graphics card.

**What I have tried so far:**
1. I have my **original stock BIOS dump (1MB .BIN file)** from my laptop, which works and allows the laptop to power on normally (but no display with 9600M GT, as expected).
2. I found a **modded BIOS file (e.g., "5920G_MXM_V3.WPH")** that is supposedly for 5920G with MXM card upgrades.
3. I use a **CH341A programmer** to flash the BIOS chip.

**The Issue with the .WPH file:**
* The `.WPH` file is larger than my 1MB BIOS chip. My original BIOS is exactly 1MB (1048576 bytes).
* Comparing the `.WPH` file with my original BIOS, I found that:
* The beginning of the `.WPH` file is **identical** to my original 1MB BIOS.
* The `.WPH` file has **extra data at the end**, specifically from offset `00100000` up to `0010D630` (approx. 54KB additional data). I suspect this section contains the new VBIOS for the 9600M GT.
* I attempted to extract the BIOS region using UEFITool, but it gave a "not a single Volume Top File is found" error, indicating it cannot parse this specific `.WPH` structure for some reason.
* I also tried to manually cut the file with a hex editor based on the `000FFFF0` boundary, but the resulting BIOS did not work (laptop was completely dead, requiring a reflash of the original dump to recover).
* I tried flashing another 1MB .ROM file from an Extensa 5620G (also PM965 chipset, 8600M GT stock) that was modded for MXM, but it resulted in unexpected behavior (e.g., battery charge light on, no boot).

**My Request:**
Could someone please help me get a working 1MB `.BIN` or `.ROM` modded BIOS for my Acer Aspire 5920G that fully supports the Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT?

**Ideally, if possible:**
* Extract the correct 9600M GT VBIOS from the provided `.WPH` file (or provide a known working one).
* Inject/patch this VBIOS into my **original stock BIOS file** to ensure maximum compatibility with my specific laptop hardware.
Or even convert a WPH to bin!??

**Attached Files:**
