Hello. Can somebody help me with this BIOS mod? I can pay for a successful BIOS mod. (80€)

I’ve been intrigued a lot about why anything above GTX 680M/K5000M Kepler won’t work on this LVDS Clevo X7200 laptop?

For example Nvidia Quadro K3100M, GTX 780M, 880M, 970M, 980M won’t work in the master slot, despite having the same LVDS port for the internal screen.

These cards do support legacy and legacy oprom.

Even I got a GTX 970M, 980M and Quadro P5200 to work in the slave slot! With Legacy and UEFI VBIOSes. The BIOS recognized them as the 2nd NVIDIA GPU. Even the RTX 4070 MXM was detected!!

So my point is… There’s maybe a whitelist of GPUIDs for the master slot or maybe there's something during the post.

But some could say that the GTX 700M to 900M needs some partial support for UEFI in order to work and display… Even though these generations support both legacy and UEFI.

I removed GOP/UEFI image on the Maxwell cards I own and the laptop doesn’t post still! I even edited my Maxwell cards VBIOSes GPUID. Replaced them with some Fermi GPUIDs (280M and 5000M for example). No post again! Laptop stays on with fans at idle

It’s not about the LVDS port and not about the VBIOS. It’s about the BIOS.

Is there a way to remove the GPU whitelist from that Phoenix BIOS? So we can add a GTX 980M or M5000M as the best card in terms of LVDS compatibility?

I see that the 1st gen “core i” Alienware M15X can support up to a GTX 980M/M5000M…
Even the Clevo X8100 and Clevo M980NU (PM55 chipset) support up to a GTX 980M in LVDS, in the master slot.

Here’s the Clevo X7200 BIOS that was taken from the SOP8 F25L16PA chip: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CPea1hd...hZhEN/view

Hello BIOS modders,

I have this MSI trashcan at home and I wanted to upgrade to RTX 4060, but apparently the BIOS doesn't allow that. Up to RTX 3060 Ti was reported as an upgrade that works, but above that, GPU is just not detected at all.

Can you help me fix the BIOS for me? I was able to get the ROM from the EXE file using 7-Zip and browse the structure using UEFITool, but I lack knowledge and have no idea where to even start. I'd be happier if I was just given instructions on what to replace using UEFITool rather than getting a potentially dubious binary from unknown source.
The problem is that since it does not have a GPU, the fans work at 100% speed and the noise is hellish.

Hi everyone ,

I’m new here and hoping someone can help me with a BIOS mod to enable my integrated GPU (iGPU). My laptop is an Asus K52JR with an Intel i3-350M processor (1st Gen, @2.27 GHz), which should theoretically have an iGPU. However, on Windows, my system doesn’t detect it, and I can’t find an option to enable it in the BIOS

I’m specifically looking to enable the iGPU for compatibility with macOS, as my discrete GPU (dGPU), ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470, isn’t supported by macOS despite my many attempts to make it work. I believe that activating the iGPU would give me the graphical acceleration I need

Before posting, I searched extensively online for a modded BIOS that might already have this feature but couldn’t find one that allows iGPU activation. I found an unlocked BIOS version, but it doesn’t include an option to enable the iGPU. I’m wondering if this limitation is hardware-based or simply an oversight in the existing mod

Could anyone here tell me if it’s possible to unlock this feature? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you!
So i had to replace it but couldn't find identical so replaced with similar.
Laptop now have image... but don't detected nvidia video card in device manager.
Could be fixed by bios modify or something?

Hi, I have an old DELL Inspiron 5423 notebook that has a discrete Radeon GPU. I was having issues with video and booting that pointed at this Radeon Chip as the problem. I looked for the schematics to do a discrete to UMA conversion but I didn´t really have the tools to do it so I just removed the power supply to the Radeon chip (as some had suggested to me) and it worked!

Now the issue is the that motherboard thinks there´s a problem with the dGPU and makes 5 annoying beeps in sequence after booting and it doesn´t stop, ever, even in Windows.

I was thinking if it´s possible to remove either the dGpu from the bios somehow or trick the dGpu side of the bios to think there´s no problem with the dGpu to avoid the beeps.

I have modded the bios of this notebook before but only to enable the advanced menu. I was wondering if someone ever did something like this before?

To answer my own question, yes this is possible. After modding the bios to enable the advanced menus and going to the Northbridge sub-menu configuration there´s an option to disable the PEG completely, doing that cuts off the power by software to the Radeon chip (although that was already done by hardware in my case) and the notebook thinks everything is alright again.

Hi everyone,

I read some threads in the forum, and they gave me a lot of information and new knowledge (I also read threads on the Techpowerup forum).

I own 2 Clevos: a P751DM2-G since 2018, with a Prema BIOS. I love this computer and Prema's work. From the beginning, I learned how to play with voltage and frequencies on it. I also learned how to modify a VBIOS to make my overclocking and overwattage permanent (without using Afterburner) through hexadecimal software.

Everything has worked well for some years now. Prema BIOS is very nice to use, great job.

I owned, some years ago, a Clevo W230SS. I also overclocked the GPU and CPU and asked Prema for a BIOS to complete this nice small machine.
A few years later, I sold it.

I also own a P775TM1 with a 2080S. My BIOS is up to date at 1.07.29. I have the Clevo BIOS, but also XMG and Dsanke BIOSes.

I dream my computer could recognize my 2080S for what it is. I also dream that my computer could work with a 9350K and a hypothetical 3080.
The information I picked up online is that the BIOS needs the 2080S to be whitelisted (today the 2080S has the ID 10DE 1ED3 1558 7709; 10DE for Nvidia, 1ED3 for 2080S, 1558 for Clevo, and 7709, which is unknown).

Since the 2080 and 2080S are close in hardware and my computer is compatible with the 2080, I modified the hex section in the VBIOS of the 2080S to make the computer believe it is a 2080 and react. But it was a failure—actually, 3 failures.

I injected the BIOSes with a CH341.

My request would be to get hold of a BIOS that makes my computer recognize the 2080S and potentially the 9350K and 3080 for future tests.

Thank you to read me.

Hello there
So i found this forum searching for a way to "fix" my "new" laptop
Last year i bought a msi gt60 which i upgraded with a m3000m (maxwell) then a quadro rtx 3000 (=rtx 2060m) that i got for 100€ off ebay
But the 15 inches display is too small and i don't like either the keyboard or trackpad
That's why i bought the zbook
It had a quadro k3100m in it, working fine but you know kepler 2024 etc
So i installed the quadro RTX, but all it does is spin the fan for a minute, then shut down the computer, no display no beep no backlight
Reinstalled the kepler, booted right away
Tried with the m3000m, same behavior as the rtx
Laptop bios is up to date already
It shouldn't be tdp related as the zbook was available with 100w gpu (mine is 80), as well as the maxwell 1 k2200m for architecture
The m3000m is a "reference" design, looks almost identical to the kepler, both with nvidia logo on the green pcb
The RTX has a black pcb and was bought "used" from pny france
In my msi, both card booted as is, but needed to use nvcleanstall from techpowerup to install drivers, but it worked as intended
You can find the hp bios here https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp103501-...103523.exe
