It looks really fun but feels beyond me...

I've got a laptop that has been a semi-paper weight with a number of NVME M.2 slots hard coded into Intel RST which is some kind of proprietary RAID - i'm sure you know about it.

I like Linux and use Arch Linux but can't get access to any drives I place into the M.2 slots and cannot find a setting in the BIOS to enable AHCI and expose them to the OS.

dmidecode shows me the following information:

  1. i'm trying to instal a Crucial P5 Plus NVMe card via PCIe, but windows 10 crashes at start up.. windows 7 runs well but don't see the NVMe.. the nvme  work in a "modern" mobo.. i had update win7 with the 2 hot fixes for nvme support and now the win7 freezes at boot too.. i tryied Clover with no success.. i tried to insert a nvme module in bios with MMTools without success, nothing was inserted.. i wonder if someone can mod my bios with nvme support (if it's possible).. i have last bios ver 0803.. nvme VendorID C0A9 DeviceID 5407...

Can someone please enable AHCI mode for the JMB362 Controller on the mobo? in the BIOS, ASUS has restricted it only to "IDE Mode".
the option is available under Advanced > Onboard Devices Configuration > JMicron 36x ATA Controller
i do not need it functioning under IDE Mode so if this can be permanently switched to AHCI mode it would be great.

the Asrock AM2XLI Based on the same chipset and has the option for AHCI

Or is ist possible to mod the Asrcock bios to work on the MSI Board?

CPU-Z claims it has an 82801JR (ICH10R) rev. 00

Bonus points if you can turn on RAID and (if possible) 1600MHz FSB (for a E5472) but I'd be perfectly happy with AHCI + CPU support.
