I have a Thinkpad W550s bios with Advanced Menu unlocked. Despite the Advanced Menu is unlocked, the CFG Lock option is still hidden. Please, can you modify my bios to unhide the CFG Lock option?
Just in case it helps, the following is from a tutorial that I followed to modify the UEFY variables with RU (but it did not work):
CFG Lock, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0x7A, VarStore: 0x6

how to remove the pr0 (or change it to the beginning region) for x131e thinkpad lenovo

ok I got it to work, using the 1.05 version.(where the S3 boot script explot still works).. (haven't try newer versions)
using uefitool 28 delete the LenovoFlashProtectPei.efi (GUID) 53AC1948-0ED0-428A-B4DD-D2FFF2F5776F (I tried to patch it but it was a bit different than https://ch1p.io/thinkpad-xx20-unlock-spi/) so i deleted it in a last ditch try

Doing that will move the PR0 to PR4 (not sure why) (and still locked).. BUT then

then run the stuff on https://review.coreboot.org/plugins/giti...lashing.md
(The address was the same for me also)

when it resume from sleep(via rtcwake or manually), all PR0-PR4 is zeroed

I am guessing because some code (I can't figure out which) cannot find the locked PR0 to reenable the lock on PR0 (since it was moved to PR4), then when S3 resumed the PR4 became empty..

If tried on 1vy iso I get success but the flashrom -p internal says error for some reason.. so you can try it both ways, the 36666 review one above or ivy..

Hi all! I'm curious if it'd be possible to mod the BIOS to allow me to change the FN "special" keys and perform a CPU undervolt.

Would it be possible to send a virtual key to windows, or something similar, so they could be remapped with powertoys or sharpkeys? I personally have absolutely zero use for the "project" through "hang up" buttons, and would much rather be able to use them as media keys.

The above is most important, but I'd also like to see a battery life & thermal improvement through a CPU undervolt (as I've been able to do in the past!).

Request: Enable undervolting, modify FN special keys function for custom remapping.

I'm happy to do a BIOS dump if necessary as well, I'll take a few days though.

Hi
I have a nice NB Lenovo M5400 (model 20281) with Phoenix UEFI BIOS J6ET58WW (2.03 ) and GeForce GT 740M (GK208M) GPU. Unfortunately, you can only change the frequency limit by editing it in BIOS, no one other software way to do this. +135 MHz in offset is really too small for a perfectly good cooling system (IMO) in M5400.
I have seen the modification only on other laptops. I hope there are people here who are not indifferent to this problem. Please mod this BIOS and increase Base Clock Offset from stock +135 MHz to +600 MHz (I know these are unrealistic values, but at least it will not be a bottleneck as it is now).

Detailed information:
NB model: M5400 (20281) by Lenovo
BIOS version: J6ET58WW (2.03), latest. Get it there: https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc...et58ww.exe
GPU: nVIDIA GeForce GT 740M (GK208M) with 2GB DDR3 (Hynix) 64bit
See more on screenshots and let me know if more information is needed.
