Hi all,

First of all, sorry for my bad english, i'm french ...

I have a problem with my Asus F8sv. The original 8600GTm died a little time ago so i bought the cheapest card i found on ebay that would be compatible with the Asus F8, an ATI X2300 128 DDR2. I put it in the laptop, it start (i've heard the windows' start sound) but with a black screen, even by the VGA port...

My laptop have the latest bios found on asus website but it doesn't take ATI cards.

Can someone do a modded bios witch accept ATI card ? I know that the F8SA is the same laptop but with an ATI.

Here's the links of bios:

F8SV : http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=F8SV&os=24

F8SA: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=F8Sa&p=3&os=

And finally, is there a way to flash a modded bios automatically because i have no screen, just put an usb stick and it flash ?

Thanks a lot !
up please !
Hi,

First of all bios from F8SA is not going to help us because it doesnt support your ATI x2300 card. It supports different Ati cards. What we need is bios from ASUS A8JR. I downloaded bios from A8JR and managed to add suport for your video card in F8SV. Bios after flashing should supports : 8600m GT and ATI X2300. Maybe you can borrow from someone 8600m GT just to make a quick flash? After that it should support your x2300. Remember that you do it on your own risk.

Hope this helps a bit.

Your laptop has AMI BIOS. Maybe you should try bios recovery method? Check this links for some info.
