Thanks,

Is there any good documentation available to hack this myself? Or is there someone working on this?
Thanks,

I just upgraded my compaq which uses the IVY8 (m2n68-LA board with the attached 5.14 bios.
Slic is still at 2.0 though if I am not mistaken.
So please use the new bios for modding it will help alot.

Also the board is thermal design limited and is best to use an 95w or less thermal design cpu.

I tried this bios going from a 1640LE to a x2 5000+ and it was very unstable.
It works fine with the 1640LE though so I'm not sure if the 5000+ was bad or what.
The 5000+ would not boot with the regular 5.14.

Guess I'll try to find a 4800+ like the site says.
did anybody get the Phenom X4 to work in the HP M2N68-LA Ivy? if so I need that bios for my piece of junk, I'm trying to run a Phenom X4 9550 in it, without any luck so far. all the links to downloads in this thread are dead now, not suprisingly. I can't even get this thing to take a bios. I just keep getting stupid messages like "source file not found", when it's on the same disk and I typed the filename and command line correctly.

thanx,

J
did anybody ever make a bios to get a Phenom X4 to work in the HP M2N68-LA Ivy8? if so I need that bios, if not can You guys mod one? I'm trying to run a Phenom X4 9550 in it, without any luck so far. I tried flashing it with the one right off the asus site that does have that processor support, same board, just not the HP one, when I run awardflash I just keep getting messages like "source file not found", when it's on the same disk and I typed the filename and command line correctly.
thanx,

J
I have an old HP OEM Ivy8-GL6 (Nforce 430a, Nvidia 6150SE) AM2 motherboard and a spare athlon II x2 250(Regor) cpu. Want to know if it is possible to update the cpu microcode in the bios to add support to this am3 cpu? Thank you. I currently have bios version 5.14 loaded and the board did not POST when the athlon II x2 250(95W) is installed.
Have you supported CPU for this motherboard?
What is the labeling of BIOS flash chip? It above jumpers for cleaning CMOS

I still have an old am2 sempron i can use to boot the system. The board has 4Mb flash chip. As far as I know, the athlon II x2 250 is supported after bios update 5.60 for the M2N68-LA(HP Narra3/5/6, etc), tried the 5.63 update but seems to be a different size bios. Mine is 512k(4Mb) and 5.63 is 1024k(8Mb). Wondering if it's possible to extract the cpu microcode from the 5.63 to inject into 5.14 update.
Give me link to BIOS 5.63

I checked the bios chip in the winflash program and it states that it's a 4Mb chip.
