youd have to find cpus that only use 65w or less for this board using an am3 cpu of anything more could cause issues the support site says
Socket type: AM2
Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
  • Athlon 64 up to 3800+
  • Athlon 64 X2 with Dual Core technology up to 4800+ (up to 65 watt TDP)
  • Sempron - All
if it supported 95 watt tdp then itd be worthy of upgrading the hypertransport speed isnt bad but the cpu socket will not accept anymore than 65 watt cpus either way which means higher prices and more searching for specific models id just buy a board that supports 95 watt cpus for cheap and make sure it uses award bios then update agesa and the cpu microcodes  i know for a fact the ecs geforce 6100pm-m2 v3.0 supports am3 and v2.0 with some work can also but harder but the v3.0 board goes for under a hundred still so you can probably get a system that runs the cpus you want for not much
actually somebody from here:

put in an AMD Athlon X2 6000+ (Brisbane 3.1Ghz 89W) processor in that m2n68-la Ivy8 board and worked okay
