aaa I got reply from TYAN but they didn't answer why exactly non 'e' with bios 5.1 from 'e' don't support 2x six core.....

In the datasheet of GT24-B2912-E a picture of S2912 (non e) is used. Look at VRMs.
But at on pictures on this page: B2912G24V4H-E server uses S2912G2NR-E motherboard and CPSU-0073 (Delta DPS-500GB M) PSU.
PWR2 (4 pin) connector is empty too.

yeah, actually that s2915e worked for 2 six cores doesn't mean that s2912e or non 'e' will work. Also for s2915 he used different CPU than 2435, 2.2GHZ mine 2435 is 2.6GHZ.

Just an update. It also does not work with two 8389 4 core 2.9GHZ OPTERONs. Behavior is similar like for six core i.e. works only on one processor,(BIOS ver 5.01)

and dell sc1435 works OK for 2x8389. Just wonder if extraction of bios from dell tyan (part which supports those processors) would be possible.

Hi, I have a same problem, motherboard is s2912g2nr, cpus are 2 opteron 8439se, it's not work at all,no any posts on mb, it's enven not starting, only power led and lan led is shining. With 2 opterons 2218 and 2220 it's works perfectly.
