DeathBringer,
Thank you very much indeed for your research and new mod build.
My PC now works perfectly with the QX9650 CPU installed.

Good news!
BTW: Your QX9650 has stepping C1. So it should be SLAWN, not SLAN3.

Hey man, do you still have the updated BIOS rom for the 780 USFF towers to support quads lying around? Quite a few broken links in this thread.

The link is still alive - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SxdFYg...lIYEDVhOOp

Thank's man! Works great. Our USFF system now runs Q6600, even with the tape mod. Nice and quick with a 3Ghz quad.

When I try installing this on my Optiplex 780 USFF, I am getting an error:
Code:
A:>BIOSFLSH.EXE -f O780-A15.HDR
The format of the bios image file is not correct.
I'm using BIOSFLSH from Dell's DTK 1.4.1 on FreeDOS.
I also tried the Win 98 boot disk and PHLASH.EXE/WPHLASH.EXE from the BIOS Flash Instructions.
Is there different/preferred way to install these updates via HDR files?
I apologize for my ignorance on this subject, but I'm new to this, and I'm a little confused.

Try to flash .hdr files by Dell Client Configuration Utility.
