Can you enable EFI booting?

No. I did previous update by uploading  ibm_fw_uefi_y4e160a-1.15_linux_32-64.bin via the IMM (Integrated Management Module) web based portal. I didn't open the case. I've had a look and I can't see any obvious jumpers

I don't know how to do this
So I can't help you without a hardware programmer like this - CH341A

I read through the BIOS options and there is a boot to file option. Here is the result of the setup_var command
Good news.
Result is 0x01
I need results of
setup_var 0x76
setup_var 0x178
setup_var 0xA3
offset 0x76 is: 0x01
offset 0x178 is: 0x01
offset 0xa3 is: 0x00
Run
setup_var 0xA3 0x01
Boot in linux and run
sudo rdmsr 0x13c
first command sets the value successfully

shutdown and boot into linux..

sudo rdmsr 0x13c
3
Try again
setup_var 0xA3
