Hi All,

just registered and asking for help.

I'm building a retro rig, with dual Xeon MP SL79V (I just like the idea to run these 4MB L3 cache mammoths for year 1998-2005 games). The motherboard is ASUS PP-DLW. BIOS is AMI. Motherboard runs these CPUs, but only at 800 Mhz.
The latest BIOS can be downloaded here:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/Sock...DLW029.zip

Possible donor BIOS could be Supermicro X5DPE-G2,
https://www.supermicro.com/about/policie...eItemID=28
it runs these CPUs flawlessly.

Thank you
Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with current CPU.
Here they are:

Make DOS USB-stick (e.g, by Rufus), download and unzip all files for the modded version of CHECKUP7 to this DOS USB-stick.
Download latest microcode for CPUID=0xF26, rename it to PEP.DAT and copy (with replacement) to this DOS USB-stick.
Boot from this DOS USB-stick and make a photo of the screen with results.

OK. Reboot and make TXT report of CPU-Z,
Here it is.
Please use latest version.

I had to set "Sensor=0" in cpuz.ini, otherwise it fails to start.
Bad news - it's not a microcode problem.
