Hi! This BIOS is covered by BootGuard technology, so burned in enabled at hardware PCH (Chipset), then we can't flash and edit this BIOS at all.
So your only option will be to remain on original BIOS.
Could someone help me out and unlock my bios? Big Grin

Hello, I ask for help in unlocking BIOS 17R2A12, thank you in advance.
hello, I have an AW 17 R2, the bios update failed and only the headlights turn on, the screen stays black and after a few minutes it turns off and turns on by itself again and nothing, I have tried everything, can someone help me?
Sorry for the English, it's a translator, I'm from Mexico
Hi,

i would also like to unlock my BIOS. If I understand correctly, RAID levels can then be selected.
At the top of the thread it says "NVME BIOS". Can NVME SSDs really be used then?
Last question. Is there a way to influence the fan control via BIOS mod?

Thank you very much
Hi, I hope u are all doing well!

I can't find any unlocked version of my BIOS (Alienware 17 R2), hence I was wondering if I would be able to get one requested here.

The case is that the option to add 32Gb of DDR3L RAM would be great, in addition to being able to adjust more advanced settings in the BIOS.

It has an Intel i7 4th gen. 4710HQ, Alienware 17 R2 (2015).

Thank you all,

Samuel

Follows my biosreg, hope it helps.

Hello! Your laptop model has 2 RAM slots only. Therefore, the maximum possible RAM support is 16Gb (2x8Gb). Any Haswell core processor does not support 16Gb RAM modules.

Thanks for the input.

The information about the 32Gb RAM is really confusing, and its a shame that I'm stuck with 16Gb in a 2015 Alienware computer.

Anyway, now the BIOS unlock will alow some spice configurations, maybe.
