i had to run testback.exe under Windows 7, Windows 8 returned an error.

i got error 28: protected range register etc.... (see picture in the link)

what can i do?

Even after prr... Strange... Try downgrading the bios first bafore flashing or else you will need external programmer

flash.bat asks me to hit enter twice and twice returns error 28.

ok, i'll try to flash 62CN40WW later in the evening and report.

Bad luck... I can't even downgrade. I got "Error 233 - Only secured capsule is allowed on a SecureFlash system!" In both windows 7 and 8.

Do I really need a programmer? Any advice about the procedure?

A friend of mine has the programmer on his workplace. Tomorrow I'll disassemble my laptop and give him the motherboard or the EPROM.

Make a full backup bafore flashing... Also be sure to replace only bios region.

Bad luck again.. He has a programmer for a different kind of EPROM..
