HP probably said that because they would rather you bought a new HP system which already hada Phenom!!

Has anyone had any success with 5600 on Iris8?
The 5600 is natively supported on this board.

So I should be able to insert the 5600 and the board should recognize it and boot without any bios alteration?
I inserted the 5600 in the Iris8 and it booted up, recognized it and is running XP (32 Bit) perfectly.

Problem is, Passmark CPU score is about half of what it shoud be.

AMD CPUCLOCK syas both Cores are running at the correct speed.

Do I need XP 64bit to get the correct benchmark?
hmmm.... its a very good possibility, how much RAM do you have GPU total?

TheWiz
See attached - I only ran the CPU test
End of Story...

I loaded Vista 64 bit and the CPU Passmark went from 760 to almost 1800.

So, the Iris8 will accomodate the 5600+, but you are wasting your time without the 64 bit OS.

$30 investment and my Sempron LE-1250 Passmark of 550 goes to 1800 with the 5600+.
Nice to hear!
Okay this is where i am at. I install the "IRIS8MOD.BIN" and can access the OC options in the bios. But I still am getting "CPU Unsupported" message when putting in my X2 5600+ 89w chip. Is there any bios options i need to change for this chip to work with my Motherboard?
