This bios mod, I've tested. The PC will not start with the new processor. With the old processor it works.
ok ive removed the non-working mod and will try this again tomorrow Smile

the remod will be up soon , i was going to use the Shuttle SG31G2 V2 bios cpu microcode which officially supports the E7600 but tis too big to fit in your bios and theres not much there that we can remove!

Will look for a smaller microcode file!

Ok try this at your extreme own risk! Ive compiled all the Wolfdale microcodes into a custom microcode file and used it to replace the existing microcode. The microcode file that i wanted to insert was a massive 185kb but this custom one for Wolfdale only is 76kb so it fitted in your bios Smile

Sorry but I have bad news for you.

The flash worked but the system is not running.

I have tested it with an E 8400, but nothing.

This PC looks as if the successor would be from my PC.
