Hello

I have a DFI Lanparty DK 790FX-M2RS (790FX northbridge, SB600 southbridge) motherboard with the latest beta bios from 2009. This bios does support the AMD Phenom II X4 965 CPU and it worked amazing with it.
I bought an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T for my hardware collection and i wanted to give it a try with my board.
The CPU was recognized by bios as AMD unknown processor and i was able to boot into windows but in the OS only one core is available and it is running at 800 MHz no matter how i set it up in bios.
I thought that the bios had no support for the Phenom II X6 series and i was right since my agesacpu.rom has no reference to Phenom II X6 series.

I searched the internet and i found a motherboard from Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6 also with 790FX northbridge and SB600 southbridge that had support for the Phenom II X6 series in its latest bios

I tried to modify my bios replacing the agesacpu.rom and ncpucode.bin with the ones i extracted from the gigabyte bios. With this moded bios my DFI started just fine, the bios recognizes the CPU as Phenom II X6 1100T but in Windows the same thing happens: only one core available that runs at 800 MHz.

Tried to replace only the agesacpu.rom module keeping my original ncpucode.bin
- the board started but failed to load the OS or enter the bios

Tried to replace agesacpu.rom, ncpucode.bin and meminit.bin with the ones from gigabyte motherboard.
- the pc failed to start

I have searched on the internet for information related to bios modifications and it worked on some other boards ...

Do you have any idea what am i doing wrong ?
Is there another file i should modify ?

Thank you in advance

Make and attach TXT-report of CPU-Z in this case.
And post a screenshot of regedit with expanded key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0
Thanks for your answer
I have attached the TXT report of CPU-Z and regedit and here is something strange too ...
CPU Z recognizes the CPU as Phenom II X6 1105T

In the regedit photo you will see the microcode version as 010000DC because i have updated the ncpucode.bin with the latest version for this CPU. Previous version was 010000BF.
[attachment=17647]But the issue remains the same: 1 core only and running at 800 Mhz
Have you a hardware programmer for recover?
Did you tried to flash BIOS from 790FXB-M3H5?

D7SD707.zip

Major Reasons of Change:
Add new micro code for support AMD Phenom II X6 1035T/1055T/1095T.

Yes i do have a hardware programmer for recovery as i broke it a couple of times before trying different combinations of agesacpu.rom and ncpucode.bin
And there are some other bios chips SST 49LF080A on their way in case i will mess up my current one.
I will try to program the bios with the file you gave me in that link.

Probably awdflash will not be able to program it because of the version differences but i wil take the chip out and program it with the with the hardware programmer.

I will come to post the results right after
OK.
And try to find original BIOS with R7LD223 version.
I found only SLIC-modded version - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?wv2mzizzmg3
Test it.
Tried the LANPARTY DK 790FXB-M3H5 bios file. The PC doesn't even post and i was expecting at this behavior because the motherboards are very different as far as i could see about the modules inside the bioses.

I will try now the R7LD223
I have tried the R7LD224.BIN bios. i saw that this bios is for DFI Lanparty Ultra 790fx-m2r and mine is a DFI Lanparty Dark 790fx-m2rs.
I do not know that differences are between the two motherboards but after i programmed the bios, the pc starts fine , the first thing that appeared on the screen were some random colors, then the cpu was detected as AMD unknown processor just as with my original bios.
I can enter the bios ....and i see that there are 2 lan cards i can enable/disable (maybe the DFI Lanparty Ultra 790fx-m2r has 2 NICs integrated)
I loaded the OS but it is the same issue: 1 core only, 800 mhz
Obviously the cpu was shown in windows as AMD unknown processor

I have found this page but unfortunately my beta bios is a higher version than the latest on that site.

You have D7LD706 version.

Try to flash F8N BIOS from Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P

And you can try F8I BIOS from Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5. Note that you need to double firmware file to make correct size.
I attached the CPU-Z report in TXT format
Should i write the F8N Bios like that, or should I extract ncpucode.bin, agesacpu.rom from it and insert them into my original bios ?
