Hi oXYnary,

I am reviewing this with our Phoenix moderator and support team. We are working on recalculating the header and offset of the microcode file, to see if that's where the issue lies. We also need to check a few more things in IDA as well. I am on vacation this week so I will try to post our progress.

Thanks,
TheWiz
UPDATE: Found part of the issue already. It seems that the donor BIOSes from Tyan are storing their AGESA directly in the UPDATE0.ROM, while the HP BIOS just stores microcode in the UPDATE ROM. Maybe I was taking the wrong approach with the ACPI, and jsut need to re-calculate a new header for the AGESA in the HP.

Did you ever know your my hero?
I'm trying my best. So it seems that the AGESA in the HP is in BIOSCOD2.ROM, and the donor ones have it in UPDATE0.ROM. I think you and I should look into IDA to see if we can find a way to link these things in.

Forgive newbness, but IDA? http://www.hex-rays.com/idapro/ ?
That's the one Big Grin
I have no real programming skills. The hexing I did was just guessing. So I cant help with that option. I have some ideas I'll pm you.
Well... I attempted using the DL165 AMI bios that I modded by removing the raid bios then deleting the HP network and putting in the Broadcom network

Anyhow I used flashrom on linux and system never came back. So I guess I have a chip for you to flash (just sent you da money).

Phoenix to AMI = Fail

Ill get you the bios to flash in a few days. Will be the slight modded ones I did that worked.

Im gonna also see about getting an extra chip to play with (again will PM to see if you have any). So Im gonna be stuck with this Phoenix Bios and the weird way that HP didnt use AGESA and attempting to put AGESA functionality in. Help!
So, did you guys figure out the bios issues yet? DL145g3s are dirt cheap on the market now, if they can use Shanghais or even the barcelonas, it is worth getting for home labs.
so, what about BIOS with VT enabled?
