My only thought is that there might be hardware change since I received mine where we end up with different guts...?
I can't even use an original bios update from the lenovo site, which is even weirder....

I'm starting to think my bios is newer than the one posted. My version 9s 59CN18WW V2.03.
The one on Lenovos site is 47CB28WW..
Any ideas would be appreciated, as I want to instal my 6250.
Thanks
I have a y470 and downloaded the modded bios 1.bin, but I'm unable to flash the bios. The InsydeFlash software from Lenovo says the file matches the current bios and won't let me select the modded bios. Can anyone help me please?
I tried following the 6 steps mentioned, but it says no rom file?

Rename it to 1.fd or something.
I have been looking to change the bundled wireless card in my y470p as it's really crappy (low tranfer rates, random disconnects), but first I have to remove the BIOS lock. searching the 'net I came across this thread.

I tried to flash the BIOS following the instructions on previous posts, but I keep getting the error that the update is not for my computer.

I've changed the bios file name to bios.fd and 1.fd and the same error happens. I also replaced the platform.ini file.

If I delete the platform.ini file i get the essage that the update is not newer than my current BIOS.

My BIOS version is:

59CN18WW(V2.03), 2/14/2012
