Hi, I am looking for help getting my Dell XPS 14z unlocked so I can modify all the Advanced settings, especially the ability to change to UEFI Boot Mode. Any help with this would be awesome!!

You can download the latest version of the BIOS here: http://downloads.dell.com/bios/R318624.exe

Attached are some screenshots to help you see the current limitations of the BIOS.

Again, thank you so so much for helping out.

On a related note, I am super open to learning how you do this. I am guessing that you are editing the Setup Utility ROM file that is packed in the FD BIOS file, but I am unsure how you know what exactly to change. If you can provide some insight, that would be great as I would love to learn and maybe even help out others.

Thanks!! Smile
Lol, i bet you will spend some fun time with this one, i think i never had seen a bios so different before and after the mod Smile

Please post new screenshots Smile

Wow. You are not kidding. That's a metric ton of new options. I promise to post pics in a little bit.

It goes with and without saying that you are an awesome person. Thank you so much for doing this.
Here are some pics as promised!! If you need additional shots of some of the "Advanced" settings, let me know.
I have tried this bios, but Dell has somehow locked out sata III support when they upgraded from A00 to A02. With the version A00 some people have gotten their sata III drives to work but not with A02. I have got my drive to work but it only works for about 5-10 minutes before reverting back to sata II. Can someone unlock the A00 bios, maybe there is something in there that can fix my problem. It can be downloaded here......

I have a friend who is trying to disable his nvidia optimus technology, video encoding works faster with it off. can he do it with this custom bios? Also, does he just run the exe file?
