You Sir are a scholar and a gentleman. It worked flawlessly. I removed my old Intel 5100AGN card and installed a RealTek 8188CE to test it and it works.
Going to go shopping for a decent WLAN adaptor now.

Don't know exactly the way to flash it back, maybe using patched HPQflash. Good luck. I added patched HPQFlash and Cabpack to my folder, i think it's easy to use, just compress the modded rom file using cabpack with MSZIP compression type and name the cabinet ROM.CAB, put together with the patched HPQFlash and pray
problems...i tried with your guide but when start HPQFlash patched i have an error:
the system in use not include the WMI support...try with a previous version of HPQFlash...

Try using insydeflash and customized platform.ini or try FLASHIT.exe under bootable DOS pendrive.

if i wont use insideflash, opening the platform.ini i see that the program use a .bin file...but my mod rom is a .rom.....how I can use the mod rom?
For FLASHIT.exe do you have a guide?
