ASUS P8P67 WS Revo BIOS support request for D1 stepping Intel processors
#1
Hi all,

After desperately looking around the web, I came across your website guys.
I had BIOS 1302 working on my ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution and Core I7 2600K D1 ES processor.
Updated to 2003 BIOS and now seems it does not support my D1 stepping CPU anymore.
Tried to downgrade, by ami bios tool. But looks the framework its completely changed, and some guys have bricked their mobos by forcing it.
Right now, I have a Core I5 2500K D2 in place, and its working fine. Guess just the ASUS people didn't add the D1 microcode after 1302 to their BIOSes.

Is there anyway you can mod a BIOS 20* to support D1 stepping?
My i7 is a jewel, and works with HT enabled@5Ghz 200 IBT passes.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Please provide a link to the BIOS download, you can find this on the manufacturers website.

Thanks.

Hi Mick,

Thanks a lot for your reply.
Here you go as requested:

http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P8P67%20WS%20Revolution&p=1&s=39&os=30&hashedid=dzgoion0wgHoT7tp

1302 was fine for D1, checked myself. Tried after that 1402, 1503 & 2003, no luck.
Lemme add that 2003 adds a totally different framework and Intel Mangement Engine 8.
All of them are UEFI BIOSes.

I screwed up my board when I updated to 2003, had to force BIOS downgrade with AMI BIOS tool to 1302. Since didnt support my D1 ES 2600K. Seems the forced downgrade erased Intel ME and had no options to tweak or overclock my CPU nor RAM.
So, running out of options, either I bricked my mobo, or had my 2600K running at stock instead of those glorious 5Ghz I´ve been using on all cores. Took my chances and updated back to 2003, thinking maybe I could downgrade Intel ME with a tool I found at hardforum to previous version, and got it bricked, cleared CMOS, tried everything. Its on its way to RMA now.

I guess the microcode for D1 and D0 CPUs are not included on later BIOSes versions
Maybe when I get the new one, we can try to update to modded 1402 or 1503, see if it works and then take it to 2003.
Lemme know if you need anyhting else from my side.

Thanks a lot
