Acer Aspire T180
#21
Yes , they are disabled in the normal bios but if you download my modded version and have a look you will see that these options have been enabled!

I used the "Acer Aspire T180 With OC 1234s282"

and my options in the bios are enabled.

I have 800mhz mem cheap or not so it fully supports underclocking in order to push the Proc

I have tried setting the multiplier and it acts strangely.... 11.5 on auto and 10x on others unless i pick 11 then it uses 11 but changes to the bus do not seem to be working... even small adjustments.

I have tried setting the voltages but being as the fsb (htt bus) doesnt seem to be changing once i get into windows.

I have set FSB in bios to 233(231 and 232) to keep my Ram clocks at 800 and dropping the multiplier to 10 11 and 12 12*33 i.e. 2333 2xxx 2796 ~effective etc etc

(i have disabled cool and quiet) and I lowered the HT multiplier to keep it at around 1000mhz
Dxdiag reports stocks CPUID report stocks.
sometimes it even reports LOWER than what autos would have produced.

However no matter what settings I use windows 7 ultimate doesnt recognize it.

in NVIDIA control panel (which I dont use cause everything is always locked anyway) it shows what I have set the BIOS to in DEVICE SETTINGS but under system information it shows stock everything

Is there a reason windows kicks me back to stock settings?

thnx

so I drop the multiplier to something insanely low

I drop the memory clocks to low

I cannot change the reference clock at all.

what gives?

being as the reference CLOCK is not actually the FSB

does a PCI card... or spread spectrum on sata or anything else lock the Reference clock?

I mean I installed this bios you guys have come up with ... which seems great

or is windows 7 infringing upon my preferences and rights as an owner yet again?

could anyone assist me...
got myself an acer aspire t180 originally with a amd sempron 3000+ cpu
i bent the pins on the cpu..so aquired a cheap 3400+ (from fleabay) now its running ok,
i checked the socket and its a AM2 slot to which i found out i could fit a dual core cpu to it.
so again off to flea bay and won a dual core amd athlon 5000+ after being told am2 slot will take it, fit right in and should work ok..
i have updated the bios to R01-CO latest one i believe, but when i instal the dual core cpu the main power light on front of pc doesn't light up,but i can hear the fan and the sound of the hard drive,
the screen doesn't acknowledge there being any power and is in standby mode..
is it the power supply or is it the fact its an athlon where a sempron used to be..do i need a new bios update to enable dual core
any help in this would be much appreciated..any more info needed let me know..
ill do my best...
ps mobo is mcp61sm-am
cheerz in advance ..converter
