Asus M2N68-LA (Narra3) bios v 5.10 hp

(this is a temporary link, so download ASAP when you see this - link may be valid for a limited time)
I may consider posting it in the future on either Google Drive or MS Onedrive when the Sendspace link expires

Edit 3/7: there seems to be a confusion as to whether users are actually using a NARRA3 board or not.  The link that I have is the correct version with the correct flash BIOS size (1024k - v5.10 dated 2/21/2008) and for NARRA3 boards only (NOT for Narra2 & older and definitely not for Narra5/Narra6).  the one previously linked to dropbox (v5.13 dated 10/2007) is for the older NARRA or NARRA2 boards and has a flash BIOS size of 512k, which will NOT work with the NARRA3 & higher boards and could possibly render these boards unbootable when using the wrong flash BIOS file.

Hi all. Been a while since I have been on BIOS-MODS!

I hate to throw water on the above statement, but I think HP did provide some retro versions of these BIOS files. To be specific... I have a 1024k 5.13 BIOS with SLIC 2.1 mod file. I have been running this BIOS for 8+ years on my 5189-1661 v3.02 Narra3 board (/w SPDIF/1394).

It has been a trooper running 24/7 Win7/WMC with six 360 extenders.  But recently, when the Win7/MC install started to become hopelessly corrupted (I tried to save it), and I was looking at a wipe/redo (Loss of many DRM recordings), I took the opportunity to upgrade to a newer 6 core MOBO (also an ASUS). The Narra3 is now retasked as a Windows 10 Insider test machine and is working great.

And to add... This MB came from an HP M8330F "Media Center" Vista Win7 PC. I had a Ceton InfiniTV4 (4 tuners) cablecard tuner and EPG123 installed. I also had an AMD Phenom II x4 945 (95w) installed (AMD Processor model unknown).

BIOS 5.63? Hmmm... I doubt I would try it. I searched for an elusive v5.14. And a v5.17. Never found either for this Narra3 board.

Have fun!

I was never able to mod it with modbin6 as that app just froze so I ultimately gave up on making unlocked modded bios

ffwwaaa-haa-haa-haa-HAA!  I guess you weren't able to find the 5.14 & 5.17 bios versions because they're not listed for your hp m8330f computer, msbetatester.

I found those missing 5.14 & 5.17 bios update downloads listed for an hp compaq dx2450 microtower pc on HP's web site but selecting Vista 32bit as the OS {not Win7 32bit} and expanding the Previous Version section for the BIOS downloads (even the latest 5.63 bios version is listed there)

I'm 100% sure that the compaq dx2450 machine does use an M2N68-LA Narra3 motherboard and HP released many bios updates for the dx2450

and the v5.63 bios version works perfectly fine on my HP pavilion m8417c computer - using AMD Phenom II X4 B97 cpu {fully recognized by the BIOS, no "unknown cpu" message in bios when using at least v5.60 or higher} and 6Gb of RAM on that Narra3 board as well; recently running Windows 10 LTSC 2021 {21H2}.  Phenom ii x4 B97 is similar to phenom ii x4 955 95w HDX955WFK4DGM cpu

edit 7/6 - attached screenshot of MSInfo & CPU-Z reporting the 5.63 bios version for the Narra3 board in my HP computer Big Grin
