Asus P8Z77-V LK NVME and Resizable Bar Support Request
#1
Hello,

I was wondering if somebody could help me mod or give guidance for adding NVME and Resizable Bar Support to the P8Z77-V LK.

I'm still pretty new to bios modding so am not familiar with adding modules.

As far as I have found, Rebar can't do more than 2GB allocation on Ivy Bridge but still seems to have some affect to performance so I'm hoping to enable it.

Thank you! Smile

Edit:
The link to the latest bios is below. I'm having trouble attaching the file Sad

I successfully Enabled Rebar using the ReBarDxe.ffs mod and added NVME support using the "NvmExpressDxe_Small" module.

To enable 4G Decode I had to enable the PCI Subsystem menu using AMIBCP 4.55
The modules were added at the end of the DXE list using UEFITool with the Rebar module being the last one added after the nvme module.

It's not well documented but since Ivy Bridge can only handle 2GB BAR allocation, this limit applies to the system as a whole.
So for example if you have 2 graphics cards installed you can only create a BAR size of 1GB since anything above isn't support by the architecture. I read somewhere that this was due to Ivy Bridge not having BMI instructions so it couldn't address larger BAR sizes.
If you have more than one card installed and you set your BAR size to 2GB the system will throw a POST code and won't boot.

I attached my file if anybody needs it. I flashed using a EZP2023+. I tested it using spare bios 8MB bios chips to ensure it worked. Although my spares were fake winbonds. If anybody knows equivalent reputable substitutes for the W25Q64 series in DIP and SOIC form please let me know Smile
