Boot Password on Asus UX330U (solved)

Hello,

My wife came to me a year ago saying something is wrong with the laptop I gave her. I put it aside as she has a work macbook and forgot about it.

I powered it on recently and got a password prompt on boot. Cannot enter BIOS or windows.

Alt+R recovery method does not work.

I bought CH314a + chip clip and downloaded the bios, but I have no idea of how to reset/delete the password.


Can someone point me in the right direction? This is a nice old laptop would like to get in service again.
