[REQUEST] Lenovo Thinkpad E145 (HSETxxWW) Whitelist Removal
#41
(12-29-2014, 10:20 AM)Flintstone Wrote: Hi BDMaster,

I just bought a Lenovo E145 with AMD E1-2500. For Linux compability I need to swap the built-in Broadcom wifi adapter to an Intel/Atheros one until I ran into this whitelist issue. I have absolutely no knowledge on BIOS modding, and I wonder if I could use some help to remove the whitelist check once and for all.

I have run BIOS backup tools from comment 32 and for the first one I got this:
http://rghost.net/60041345
And for the second one I got an error ''Error 201: [FPTw.exe] cannot be run on the current platform.'
http://rghost.net/60041365
I ran those tools under Windows7 PE Live USB.

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Angel

Hello! Help me please!! I updated BIOS from patched 2.02 to 2.03. After that I wanted to rollback to patched 2.02. When flasher was running, after 100% progress, notebook showed black screen, and nothing is going on!!! Now, if I turning on it, nothing is going on (red power button blinking, cooler is working) - I have brick. Is there is exists way to solve this problem?!

I have done only a version 2.02 for You !
You used a Bios Mod from a different user ?
You can only try the Recovery Procedure and if It will not work You can use the HW SPI PGM

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575

Here is the Recovery Prcedure :

I used files from archive Lenovo_E145_HSET57WW_NWL_Todk.
Cannot start recovery procedure, usb-flash-drive is not blinking - it has static lighting. Cooler is working, power button is lighting.

Don't understand !
You wrote . . .

So my Bios Mod worked Wink !!!
Then You used a 2.03 how original or patched ?
and then after the 2.03 flashing laptop worked ?
and then why directly flashed 2.02 with CMOS (NVRAM) set for 2.03 ?
Many things I don't understand or better I understand that You didn't asked before do all these tests !
If Recovery Procedure doesn't work then only an HW SPI Programmer can do the job :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575

You get the tools and I will help You to rebuild your Dump Firmware (You have to read the Eeproms
contains and upload the files here)
