Hasee (clevo) Z8-KP7S1 BIOS rebuild possible?
#1
Information
I’ve just purchased a Hasee Z8-KP7S1 (clevo rebranded) laptop with a damaged or corrupt bios. The laptop does not boot or POST. Lights and fans turn on but no display is shown. I also am unable to locate a BIOS anywhere on the English side of the internet. The previous owner said they tried to update the bios with one from a different brand but similar/identical Motherboard but during the process the pc shut off. He said it stopped at “building boot sector” or something with the word boot in it. This brand is very popular in China but I’m unable to locate anything bios related on it because I cannot read Chinese. The Hasee website has nothing in the form of support or a downloads section. I’ve tried removing cmos battery for roughly 10 hours but no success.

So my question is this….

Would it be possible to rebuild or repair the BIOS without display or another bios file to flash? Could I just replace the BIOS chip with a blank and use a bios from a different brand with same specs? Would there be something on the hard drive that would help me fix this? What are my options?

Specs:
Hasee Z8-KP7S1
Model: CP65S04
7700HQ
1070 8gb gpu
Motherboard S/N: 1TP650HS6510906
Motherboard P/N: 6-77-P650HS0A-N02C-1B#1HA
Previous bios stated from last owner: 1.05.01

I’d really love to get this laptop working as I don’t have another. Any help would be amazing. Thank you in advance <3

I do not have the programmer yet. I was waiting to see if it is possible before I buy it. I just contacted one of the companies that also uses this board/body in a rebranded version. They said they could possible give me the BIOS file for it. It’s slightly different from the one that I have but the main board should be the same right? It’s the same chassis and specs so it should work right?

Would this work in my situation? I’m trying to spend as little as possible. KeeYees SOP8 SOIC8 Test Clip and CH341A USB Programmer Flash for Most of 24 25 Series EEPROM BIOS Chip with PDF Tutorial https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SHSL9X9/ref...UTF8&psc=1

I mean what you wrote and i understand, so i can say that to have these informations you have to desmantle the pc and
get all data in Motherboard (model , serial , etc) and the Eeprom chip too as it needs to check if is at 3.0v or 1.8v ...
In the second case you need to buy the adapter too ...
The next information to get is the Bios or Firmware file ? as actually are availaible the firmware (not only region bios) file , but some
files contains only the Bios Region yet ...

The motherboard info is in the first post at the bottom. The bios chip is a Winbond 25Q64FVSIQ so according to the data sheet it should be 3v.
Motherboard Serial is 1TP650HS6510906
Motherboard model is 6-77-P650HS0A-N02C-1B#1HA

Also thanks to Fern I now have a bios file that should work.

The programmer has been ordered and should arrive in the morning so with any luck I should have this working in no time.

I got the programmer earlier today and managed to get the bios files on the chip and the laptop is working now. I had some issues getting the connection right and with reading the chip but I realized I had the clip backwards. Now I'm getting pretty common blue screens with an ever changing stop code.

Event viewer seems to have random things causing the bsod. A few of the logs suggest something to be wrong with the TPM(?).

I'm not sure where to go from here but seeing as how I've been on Windows 11.... I'm going to try to reinstall windows 10 and start over from scratch. Hopefully that will work.
