Need help with ASUS P5LD2-VM/S Rev. 4.00G BIOS AMI 0402
#1
Hi

I have motherboard Asus P5LD2-VM/S Rev. 4.00G with AMI BIOS ver. 0402 OEM MAXDATA .
CPU is Intel celeron 420 1,6 ghz and I wanted upgrade it with one stronger / better / faster CPU ,but can not find a list of supported CPU.

The ASUS suport told me tath motherboard is OEM and that they can not help me. Sad

And here is the response from the MAXDATA Sad
Due to the MAXDATA AG Insolvency in 2008 we are unable to provide you with more information on the old systems then the ones located on our ftp server at ftp://download.maxdata.de/. Other options are unfortunately unavailable as we don't have access to materials from the old MAXDATA AG.

If anyonehad any experience with this motherboard, specifically upgrading the BIOS or CPU or both any advice is welcome.

Here are some details:
P5LD2-VM-CONROE-PWR Ver. 4.00G
BIOS AMI 0402

Asus P5LD2-WM/S Rev4.0 mainboard
Intel 945G chipset
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
1 x PCI Express x16 slot (full lenght card)
4 x SATA controller
Realtek ALC 882, 8-ch High-Definition Audio CODEC with S/PDIF out interface
PCI Express-based 10/100/1000 onboard network controller
6 x USB 2.0
1 x serial (RS-232) port
1 x parallel (LPT) port
2 x PCI slots
1 x PCI-e x1 slot
2 x 5,25"

BIOS Type: AMI
BIOS Date: August 7th 2007
BIOS ID: 64-0402-000000-00101111-080707-945G-A0792000
BIOS OEM: MD 0402 * ASUS P5LD2-VM (4.00G) - 0402
Chipset: Intel 2770 rev 2
SuperIO: Unknown
Manufacturer: MAXDATA
Motherboard: Favorit 5000I

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wanted to upgrade CPU but before that I wanted to upgrade my BIOS to AMI 0404 that I found in MAXDATA suport web page for my motherboard (Here are the official MAXDATA drivers and BIOS P5LD2-VM/S Ver. 4.00G http://ftp.maxdata.de/MAXDATA%20PCs/MAXD...M%204.00G/ ). Now what interests me is, it's a fail 0404_BIOS_CD.iso which contains two .ROM files IDE.ROM and RAID.ROM, is not a classic BIOS with one BIOS ROM file so I assume that they will seek to I choose one of them. And there is no instruction on how do thet, properly upgrade bios.
There is also a file History_400.pdf explaining what was changed in the new BIOS .
I install the ASUS Update tool and he my motherboard seen as P5LD2-VM-CONROE-PWR
