[REQUEST] HP Compaq 8510w whitelist removal
#1
I have a HP 8510w. Unfirtunately, it has F.20 on it, which is not downgradable. I have a bin of a de-whitelisted F.15 with SLIC 2.1. Is there any way the notebook can be coaxed into believing this is F.20, or is there a way to transfer these modifications to an F.20 BIOS?

Modded F.15:
.bin   Rom.bin (Size: 1 MB / Downloads: 32)

Stock F.20:
.bin   F20.bin (Size: 1 MB / Downloads: 21)

If anyone could help me out with this, i would be SO happy. I've been fighting this thing for hours.

Hi,
I have a HP Compaq 8510w and the wifi card it has in it(Intel a\b\g\n) constantly crashes windows 10 and other users are reporting the same
I was hoping someone could help so I can replace the card with something newer
I would have tried some of the utilities that are on this site but I don't even know what bios this is
*screenshot will be added later
someone posted a version of the bios on pg8 of the big hp bios whitelist thread but the file has since been deleted on the file sharing site
EDIT: I also found this https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/f...x0hdx9000/
but the files are also missing from the file sharing website  Sad

Here you can download the bios file and everything needed to flash it, just run the flash utility inside.
To download from this forum, you need to register first. It takes 2-3minutes. I did it even without translate.

After flashing my cpu speed went up from 2.2Ghz to 2.4 and it also removes the wifi whitelist.

I deleted the file after flashing, sorry.

Sorry for by bad English.

Thanks, It seems to have worked, windows 10 did not like my old wireless card so I had to change it
I have uploaded the files to an English website for people to download as well as on this forum
Edit:I also included backups of the original BIOS files (version F.13)
https://mega.nz/#F!WeBnmChR!iBy4fsIoJrfe1Rc8N3iSjQ
this folder also includes a copy of universal BIOS backup toolkit
instructions, back up bios with BIOS backup toolkit
then extract 8510PW_F15_sp41977_SLIC21_no_whitelist_dualIDA.rar to a separate folder
then run HPQflash.exe and follow the prompts
Edit:direct link if folder doesn't work https://mega.nz/#!PWBBQRaS!Cq16pGwFdXnoQ...z_Q8njGD4w

Hi, I think, the only way to flash the older bios file is to desolder the bios chip and flash it via the USB CH341A flasher... that I actualy have and will try tomorrow at work. I have 8510p that I want to install hackintosh MacOS on; and to make the wifi work, I need to fit in a MacOS compatible AzureWave wifi card, for which I need to de-whitelist the BIOS... I let you know...

And I wonder if somebody would be able to compare the de-whitelested F.15 and the original F.20 bios and alernatively copy/remove the whitelist from the newer bios version file.

Cheers
