(01-02-2014, 04:30 AM)Nomad Wrote: Hi,

I need to get the Whitelist removed from my BIOS 2.52. to install a Intel AC 7260 Wireless Card. I used Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit V2.0 to backup my BIOS.

Best regards

Thank you very much sovem,

I couldn't test the new WLAN-Card yet (will be delivered on monday), but I was able to flash the modified BIOS without any problems.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I'd like to remove the white list on my Lenovo E130 Thinkpad. The closed Linux drivers for the Broadcom chip are awful, often crashing out. So I'd like to take it out and stamp on it. I've got a Intel 6250 WiMax I would like to fit, but I get the 1802 problem when I try and boot with it in instead.

Sooo removing the white list. I've been looking at:
/wiki/Problem_with_unauthorized_MiniPCI_network_card#Modifying_the_BIOS

Does this nvram code technique work on a Lenovo Edge?
I read something that you need to remove the original card, boot, do the nvram hack, shutdown, and fit the new card. If you reset the BIOS settings, you have to do it again.

Am I right in thinking I have nothing to lose in trying because if the nvram hack doesn't work, I can aways nuke the BIOS settings. The BIOS should still boot to do this, and even if it doesn't, I can flip out the battery.

Is this all right and completely wrong and I'll brick my new laptop by trying?? ;-)
