I tried downgrading but wasn't able to install any BIOS version. I get an error saying wrong machine type or something like that.
I think that one cannot downgrade to a version earlier than 2.31, according to the readme file of that version.

Also, I wasn't able to find my current version 2.35 anywhere, which is weird; the latest version on Lenovo's website is 2.34. I have no idea how I got this 2.35 version.

Any tips on how to downgrade?

Hello, I bought a Intel AC 7265 and was excited but just found out that there is something called whitelist and doesn't let me boot.

Bios Version: GLET78WW (2.32)

http://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/products...s/DS037576

results.rar
https://www.sendspace.com/file/67sthd

Please let me know if you need anything else. Do I need a SPI Programmer to do this? I would be happy to donate if this can be fixed. Better than spending money returning the wireless card and wasting time buying one.

I would like to request a bios without whitelist. If anything besides the information below is needed, do let me know.

And whether this will work or not: thank you so much for helping out users of locked-in devices.

There is a bug in 2.32-2.36 BIOS versions on T440 and T440s that allows to use an unbranded Wi-Fi (looks like the whitelist isn't checked due to the bug). Most probably there is the same bug on T440p.
On 2.37 the bug for T440s has been fixed. The description of the 2.37 is here https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/gjuj24us.txt
The similar fixlist we can see for v2.36 for T440p https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc...uj26us.txt. So most probably v2.35 for T440p has the same bug and will allow you to use any Wi-Fi module.
v2.35 for T440p is here
https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc...uj25us.txt
https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc...uj25us.exe

Let us know if you will try.

At the moment I can't afford to break my working (Linux) install so I can't try at the moment, but I will try as soon as possible and report back. Thank you.

whether it is possible to apply patches with different GLET72WW ?

Hi friend,
I have build these two for T400P and T440/s cause all users are asking for Mods.
You uploaded a Bios Backup of GLET72WW (I saw) but is Protected by password,
upload it on RGhost or Sendspace servers, please and I will make It and upload for You !
Let me know
Regards

P.S. It's Always possible to rollback a previous version to apply Patch.

Here is the actual Bios (LENOVO-GLET82WW(2.37)):

Thanks alot in advance.

edit:
as i was trying to get a new bios file to learn for myself, by mistake i updated the bios to the newest version 2.37
(Lenovo installer, and i forgot to uncheck the install after install, but it really is kinda missleading)
