[REQUEST] MSI MS-16F2 Barebone BIOS Unlock
#1
Hi was wondering if you could unlock a bios for me. I have unlocked the bios before but it seems that on this bios some settings will cause a 0x0000a5 ACPI error.

I would be so grateful if you could also update the RAID OROM as CPU Microcodes as well.

Here is a link to the one i have already unlocked which has the stock version as well.

Also could you guide me to away of looking at the EC Firmware which is also included in the link.

Thanks!

CPU Microcodes are for the Intel i7 Mobile CPU's.

Also i have tried to slic it but SLIC doesn't work either.

Dear admins,

It might already be requested but we (a bunch of enthusiasts) are trying desperately to fully unlock the BIOS of the HM67 chipset of the MSI 16F2 and GT Series.

We have already managed to unlock a farly large amount of options like XMP support which comes along with the BCLK overclocking but unfortunately we didn't manage to get the XTU support or unlock the "CPU Information" menu which may allow us to get access to the multipliers..

We are looking for a similar BIOS like the Clevo P170HM's BIOS that has been released by Sager/Clevo afterwards (and tweaked by yourselves) to let people play with XTU and Bios CPU options.

Now at least we know that it's possible and feasible to o/c XM CPUs with the MSI notebooks (cf:MSI Global ? News) but they didn't provide any clue of how to do it...

At the moment we are using the unlocked bios following:
http://www.mediafire.com/?dg7d9p309yc9i9e

However the latest bios is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?hu1cagh1etluev0

Thanks for your time if you manage to find some to look at that and perhaps find a way to get it fully unlocked !

Cheers
Paul

Hello,
first of all please dont bother my bad english. I am actually from Germany.

Last year i bought a Medion Erazer X6813 with gtx460m. Last week i got a GTX485m which is working fine. But on my Medion it wont show anything. After installing the GPU correctly i only get black screen. The Fan is working but the system wont start. I did a Bios-Flash with MSI GT680R BIOS which did work. But it wont start either. When i installa my old gtx460m everything works fine.

Current Bios - Information:
BIOS-Version: E16F2IM7.10A
BIOS-Build: 03/11/2011
EC-Version: 16F2EM71 Ver4.05
EC-Build : 02/24/2011
Link -> https://rapidshare.com/files/2806962560/16F2_10ZU.rar

Is there any way to unlock the BIOS to accept my GTX485m? The new GPU was formerly used in a CLEVO - Notebook.

Please help me guys!! Its my last hope to get things working.

I would try to find a vbios from an MSI 485m and flash that onto your card.
Could possibly request a vbios dump on an MSI notebook forum.

But first make sure you're able to blind flash.

Hello!
I amupgrading my MSI GT683 (MS-16F2) and i need to unlock the hidden BIOS menus (Advanced and Chipset tabs). This is necessary for a GTX 970M GPU upgrade and for setting custom RAM timings (CL9).
My System Specs:
- Model: MSI GT683 (MS-16F2)
- CPU: Intel Core i7 - 2860QM
- Current BIOS Version: E16F2EMS.10Z
- EC Version: 16F2EMS1 Ver4.24
- BIOS Build Date: 04/06/2012
Link to my BIOS Dump:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v5cvV8O...sp=sharing

I would be very grateful for a fully unlocked BIOS that allows me to change memory timings and primary display settings.
Thack you in advance!
