REWARD$$ Dell G7 7700 CPU Undervolt unlock 10750H
#1
Lightbulb
Hey all,

Not sure if it's AMI but CPUID says
LPCIO: SMSC
and model is 06YKKO

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-au/...90/drivers
H29HHX2 is the service tag if the link dies.
V 1.5

I was wondering if anyone is able to follow the below guide or your preferred method.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/559551#comment

The guide it has a lot of dead links etc
Basically would love if undervolting could be unlocked for the CPU.
ideally all CPU abilities so throttlestop/XTU can work properly.

Happy to pay of course! $100AUD fair?

Need it sooner then later due to dell's return policy, laptop is great just big thermal issues even using conductonaut,
I feel its more due to the VRC/TDP however undervolting has worked for others (My first intel since my dual Slot 1 board)

Have done Nvidia bios before for standalone cards however being a laptop I am very cautious
as I can't just replace the Graphics card etc.

The guide of undervolting Dell G7 17 7700 from you provided, ,although it's looks like a bit complex but in fact you could predigest it.
1.
You don't need to use python script to extract bios from official exe file ,you only need use afuwin or intel fpt tool to dump current bios from your machine.

2.
Then open this bios dump with uefitool and search module "899407D7-99FE-43D8-9A21-79EC328CAC21" then extract body from PE32 image section and save as to [censored].bin.

2.
Use Universal IFR Extractor to open this [censored].bin and extract it be a readable txt file.

3.Open this txt and search key word "CFG Lock" and "Overclocking Lock" then now you can grasp address of variable of CFG Lock and Overclocking Lock.

4.[Step 2 a to l]
Going to grub shell and set variable of CFG Lock and Overclocking Lock to 0x00(disable) ,command line like : setup_var 0xOOO 0x0
0xOOO = variable of CFG Lock or Overclocking

5.Then you could test undervolt with intel XTU or Throttlestop .

It not difficult ,i think you should try it.
I'm very curious ,it can bypass the undervolt lock with only disable CFG Lock and Overclocking Lock?? is it real?

Hey. I disabled the undervolting lock on my Dell G7 7500 (2020) with 10750H and 2070MQ 80W. Here's the link (if it posts, I just joined to post it): https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/fzv599/xps_7590_160_uefi_unlock_undervolting_and_remove/g03uxxk/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

Give me a bios file and I can get you undervolting instructions today in like 10 mins. I have already done it on several dell laptops

ok I found the variables you need. use 0x3E and 0xDA and follow this instructions that I wrote. https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/k...nd_remove/ then use throttle stop to set the undervolt manualy. nothing will look different because the bios does not show any change but it works and your thermals will show it.
