Request CPU support upgrade for two old PCs
#1
Hello folks,
first of all, sorry for any language mistakes but english is not my native language. I hope that you can understand the things I write Wink

I have got two rather old pcs here, which both have a cpu that ist not supported by the newest bios file available.
First one ist a Fujitsu-Siemens D1327 (Pentium IV) motherboard (built in a Celsius workstation) on which I put a 2.8/512/400 Northwood. The system fires up and runs perfect with that cpu but reports a "microcode missing" error when booting up. You have to hit F1 every time you boot up, which is rather annoying Wink
The newest bios file available ist this one (I hope the link works):
http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Download/S...1F31BCD18C
Unfortunately, it does not contain the microcode for the 2.8.

Secound one is even older, a QDI advance 9 for the Pentium III on which I put a Celeron 1.2 Tualatin (with the help of a LinLin socket adaptor @1.6Ghz with 133Mhz FSB). This system fires up and runs as well (no operating system installed but it posts well) but reports a wrong cpu frequency (572Mhz).
As QDI is out of business for quite a while, you cannot get the bios files from their webpages anymore but I have the version 1.9, which seems to be the last one they made for that board. I could upload that on here or so to provide a file to modify.

Are any more cpu or board specs needed? I would really apreciate when someone could do these modifications for me so that I can get two more "oldies" running smooth again Big Grin. I read the manual for cbrom and two "howto's" for microcode modifications but I think I did not get the point how to do this right.
