Send IP from bios ?

Hi all ,
i just lost my laptop. unfortunately , I set the password for my OS and the theft can not open the windows.
If the theft can open , i can know the WAN IP address of theft. therefore , the police can know who hire this IP and can find my laptop.
this is a reason that it is posible ? to mod the bios that automatically send the lastest IP to a server and we can check it anytime.
 anyone have idea about that ?

There are some serviced activated into a lot of Bioses that are sending the IP
and connect to Manufacturer's Laptop server !
