Set default recovery file
#1
Hi,

Not sure if this is even possible, but I have read that certain AMI EFI's have an auto-recovery feature:

If the system does not load the EFI that is in the EPROM, it looks for a firmware file with a particular name on a USB pendrive and updates the eprom with it.  Sometimes a magic key combination is required, sometimes not.  I am assuming that this is a potential feature of ALL AMI BIOS's/EFI's and that the necessary parameters just need to be set in the firmware.

Does anyone know how this works and if an EFI that doesn't have it set can be modified to include it?

For my system it would be best if the option doesn't require keystrokes as USB is dead if EFI fails to load (I already bricked two systems and had to reflash the eprom off-board.) hence the interest in the feature).

I can navigate the FW(attached in WOL thread)  with AMIBCP v.5.0.1

BR.
